Key Responsibilities
  • The ability to influence and sell predetermined sales solutions to targeted customers.

Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the roles of Truck Drivers - Code 14 (X4) in the Operations division based in Gauteng - Johannesburg. The positions will report to the respective Distribution Manager in the region.

Key Responsibilities

To ensure that the right order is delivered to the correct customer within the required delivery time frame. Also ensuring a high level of customer service, as well as the completion of all administration to ensure route closure.

Delivery Service:

  • The Driver will be responsible for the entire load - including stock, pallets and returns from the customer.
  • The Driver will ensure that he follows the given routes to meet all On Time Deliveries. All deviations must be reported to Diplomat and that all documentation is signed back.
  • Will ensure all returns are uplifted from the customer and returned to Diplomat for debriefing.

Asset Management:

  • The vehicle is the responsibility of the Driver, thus he must ensure all daily check sheets are compared, faults reported and rectified.
  • The Driver must also notify Diplomat of any service or licensing requirements for his vehicle.
  • The Driver must ensure that his vehicle securely loaded and locked / sealed before departing for delivery.

Route to Market:

  • The Driver must ensure that he follows the route plan and trip sheet. Feedback must be given on the plan to ensure RoadNet optimization.
  • Any delays or deviations on route must be reported to Diplomat.
  • The Driver must ensure that his vehicle is securely loaded and locked / sealed before departing for delivery.

Customer Service:

  • It is the Driver's responsibility to ensure both he/she and the crew member are dressed in a presentable manner when delivering to a customer.
  • The Driver will be the face of Diplomat and thus will be responsible for greeting the customer and all the introductions.
  • All communication will be through the Driver during the delivery.
  • The Driver will handle all queries, requests or complaints from the customer and ensure that the customer is satisfied after the delivery.
  • The Driver will communicate any issues from customers or with the deliveries back to Diplomat immediately and reconfirm these at the time of debriefing.

Administration:

  • Ensure all documentation is correctly signed, stamped and dated when delivering to various customers.
  • All documentation to be checked before departing for delivery and completion of delivery. 
  • To ensure fuel cards, keys and locks are correctly signed out and returned upon arrival back at the yard. All fuel slips to be returned with fuel cards. 
  • Ensure all pallet slips are accurately recorded and returned for accurate record keeping. 
  • Ensure all traffic violations and fines are reported immediately to Diplomat. 
  • Ensure all POD's or Uplifts are returned once delivery has been completed. 
  • All vehicle inspection sheets are correctly filled and handed in daily.

Position Requirements

  • Completed Matric or equivalent accredited by SAQA .
  • A valid Code 14 Drivers License with PDP.
  • 5 years' experience as a Code 14 Driver within the FMCG Industry.
  • Good knowledge of the Eastern Cape region and routes.
  • Ability to travel long distance with safe driving record.

SALES REPRESENTATIVE - TIER 2 - FIELD SALES DEPARTMENT - GAUTENG (SOUTH-RAND)
Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of Sales Representative based in Cape Town, Western Cape area. This position will report to the Sales Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • The ability to influence and sell predetermined sales solutions to targeted customers.
  • Meet predetermined sales budgets.
  • Facilitating orders for predefined customers, whether direct or via customer DC.
  • Excellent execution of business strategic drivers.
  • Ensure the correct standard of merchandising is executed correctly in all stores via Block merchandising / Cross merchandising / Format merchandising / Vertical merchandising etc.
  • Ensure the recommended pricing is in line with strategy and the relevant price labels are on shelf.
  • Correct Stock rotation - FIFO Principals - (First in First Out).
  • Correct category Planogram application in all stores.
  • Sales out focus by driving visibility through working with Shared Services Department on the building of gondola ends, side stacks, power wings, display units, dump bins etc.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels - the correct stock pressure on shelf and for displays to ensure no out of stocks occurs in store.
  • Category maintenance.
  • Securing and maintaining contestable space or fair share of shelf.
  • Manage damages and returns.
  • Stock counts.
  • Provide on-going market intelligence to management.
  • As predetermined by the business needs from time to time assist in:
  • Ad Hoc Promotional Events.
  • Trade Shows.
  • Representative territory coverage.

Position Requirements

  • Completed Matric or equivalent accredited by SAQA.
  • Tertiary qualification will be a plus.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in a Sales Representative role.
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in the Sales & Merchandising environment from the FMCG industry.
  • A clear understanding and working knowledge of the predetermined formal Accounts Channel and Independent Retail and Wholesale of the FMCG environment, in which the following criteria will have to be met, implemented and executed.
  • Highly motivated and responsible, with the ability to work with mini-mum supervision.
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong negotiation skills & business acumen.
  • Own reliable vehicle with a valid driver's licence.

SAP FUNCTIONAL CONSULTANT MM, MRP & WMS - IT DEPARTMENT -GAUTENG

Diplomat South Africa is recruiting for the role of SAP Functional Consultant MM, MRP & WMS based in Gauteng, reporting to the Head of IT.

Job Profile

The primary role is to support, enhance and implement new processes, or any incident that is disrupting the application service that business users depend on. The job calls for both technical capability and business understanding. Crucially, applications that are in production or live, need immediate attention: an unflappable temperament is a must. Acts as liaison with business for troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve software problems and map business requirements, processes and objectives; develop necessary product modifications to satisfy business' needs.

* SAP modules:

* Primary: MM, MRP, WMS etc.

* Secondary: FI, SD, HR

* Address related issues, rectify errors in the system, conducts workflow settings and ensures smooth system operations.

This role also includes:

  • To conduct training for new system users, and refresher training for existing users as required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the allocated budget to ensure effective spending. Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

  • Reduce cost of business processes through implementation of technology solutions.
  • Support the implemen tation of the business strategy. Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to meet operational existing and future requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network resource administration and appropriate use.
  • Provide IT solutions and tools, in line with Diplomat Group, to the business to facilitate smooth execution of internal processes.
  • Provide high quality service based on the SLA agreements and performance standards.
  • Support all Warehouse Management related service calls from the help desk, internal as well as customer queries.
  • Act as facilitator between Diplomat SA and Diplomat Global IT, as well as between Diplomat SA and vendor principals.
  • Consult with internal business to understand new business requirements, translation thereof into the system and procedural requirements.
  • Support any SAP WMS, MM, MRP & related WMS tools (but not limited to) related queries and tickets logged on local support desk by end users. Diagnose and resolve system and procedural issues.
  • Act as facilitator between Diplomat SA and Diplomat Global IT, as well as between Diplomat SA and vendor principals.
  • Consult with internal business to understand new business requirements, translation thereof into the system and procedural requirements.
  • Support any SAP FI / HR, Payroll, and other related FI & HR applications.
  • Manage specialised finance and HR related applications.
  • Maintain and monitor master data for specialised FI, HR applications in order to ensure accuracy.
  • Take responsibility for self-development through self-study, identification of learning opportunities.
  • Conduct new projects master data import in SAP as well as conduct mass updates to master data to fix errors or to add new functionality.
  • Create data dumps for information that the business requires for which there is no existing report.
  • Set up process maps as well as a back end system.
  • Check and escalate errors/issues to Group IT relating to automated raw data exchange between Diplomat SA and suppliers / vendors (P&G, Mondelez etc.
  • Provide correct responses to requests for support by means of for example: making modifications to system parameters, developing work-arounds or site specific enhancements, reconfiguring systems, changing operating procedures, training users or operations staff, producing additional documentation, or escalating requests to SAP / Warehouse Management application support / suppliers. Ensure all work is carried out and documented in accordance with required standards, methods and procedures.
  • Write and validate all new business requirement documentation as well as change requestsProviding application configuration and maintenance on DSA's business facing systems, by becoming an expert on the use of all aspects of these systems.
  • Escalate system errors that could not be solved or system bugs to group IT.
  • Liaise with group IT regarding procedural and system changes to ensure global alignment and best practice.
  • Maintain support desk software administrating queues as needed, skill groups and users linked to such groups.
  • Manage projects to ensure on time delivery and meeting the expected outcomes.
  • Participate in the Group IT functional strategic team activities.
  • Manage specialised WMS applications such as Zetes WMS application, Pick by Voice etc. (but not limited to).
  • Maintain and monitor master data for specialised WMS applications in order to ensure accuracy.

  • Conduct training of end users on the SAP module (and related applications).

Position Requirements

  • Relevant IT Degree / Qualification.
  • Relevant SAP certification WMS, MM, MRP, other added SAP modules will be an advantage.
  • Project Management.
  • 5 - 7 years relevant systems experience, with proficiency in SAP MM, MRP & WMSand EDI processes. Must have a good understanding of SAP SD and FI.
  • 3-5 years of SAP experience in logistics and supply chain.
  • 2 years plus in FMCG.
  • SAP configuration experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of key integration points between SAP modules.
  • Business knowledge and process design skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to collaborate with clients and have a strong desire to excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

TIER 3 / SUB D - SALES REPRESENTATIVE - Vosloorus (GP)

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Role is to implement the Tier 3, Sub-D / Main Market strategy at retail level. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure targeted Coverage, Sales, Distribution and Retail Presence Objectives are met. The channel is a must win channel and of strategic importance to the Company and its principals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistent development and updating of the Retail Outlet Universe Data base.
  • Consistent achieving of Coverage, Sales, Numeric Distribution & In Store Communication objectives
  • Achieving of the Trade coverage plan.
  • On time reporting and completion of daily Administration Objectives.
  • Implementation of all merchandising initiatives according to determined standards.
  • Responsible for all company resources on a daily basis i.e. Vehicles, POS, Merchandising material, stock, mobile phone.
  • The implementation of promotions when applicable.
  • Field any trade related issues or queries at store level.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence to management.

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of a Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification is required - from a recognised institution.
  • 1 - 3 years Field Sales experience *from an Informal Trade*.
  • A reliable vehicle and unendorsed license.
  • Must be a local and reside in the relevant area of operation - to be determined.
  • Must be willing to work 45 hours per week, with flexibility. Thus working days / times can be changed by the company in accordance with legislation.
  • Must speak the local language/s in the area of operation - to be determined.
